Suicide Risk in Wake County: Understanding the Crisis & Strengthening Community Response
Mary Worthy is presenting on the clinical side of suicide. She will discuss national, state, and county suicide statistics. In addition, she will discuss warning signs, risk factors, and protective factors as well as appropriate responses in a crisis. She will enlighten us on the role of hospital emergency rooms and in-patient psychiatric care.  Mary will also tell us about WakeMed Garner’s whole health vision. This is a presentation you will not want to miss!Â

About Mary:
With over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health, Mary brings us a wealth of insight from her clinical roles. Currently she serves as the Director of Clinical Services at a 900+ bed health system in Raleigh, processing 15,000 patients a year moving through the WakeMed Health & Hospital system.
When Mary isn’t integrating her therapeutic background into administrative practice you can find her exploring the new journey of being an empty nester. Life has become quieter, but hasn’t slowed down, as Mary and her husband Bryan enjoy leaning into new hobbies as well as spending time with their one-year-old granddaughter.
